Spring CSA Menu

Are you wondering what to expect in your CSA shares this spring?

Here’s a menu of what we’re working on for you. It’s going to be a great season.  We harvest 6-8 items each week for our members in as generous of helpings that the garden can supply. We utilize all our skill and careful planning, yet we still rely on favorable seasonal conditions (hopefully no hard frosts after early April) as well as mother nature’s blessings of rain and sunshine to bring you bountiful boxes each week.

Keep in mind that this is a rough estimate of the readiness of each vegetable. Occasionally in the spring, we can have loss of a particular crop or family of crops because of frost, flood, or insects, but for insurance against these situations we grow almost 40 different spring crops, and a few different varieties of each of them so that we have an abundant diversity of produce for your kitchen. Even if we lose one item, we’ve got loads of other beautiful options to give ya. Looking at this seasonal menu, you can really see how the spring season ebbs and flows. Notice how there are fewer harvestable garden offerings in the beginning of the season, but that it quickly grows into a full feast. Also you can see that there is a pretty significant transition in the types of produce growing between May and June.  Right about the time that you’ve have had your fill of crisp radishes and spicy arulgula, the season has warmed up so much that we can’t produce it any more and you’ll be hankering for it again in no time.
