Share Notes, May 29, 2025

With the 2-day power outage, the farm was thrown into a state of chaos for a couple of days, and we’re very exhausted, and still playing catch up. One thing to lighten the load is to let the blog go unwritten this week, so there’s no share notes for you this time around. Sorry members!

Luckily, our harvest includes things we’ve been giving out the past 3-4 weeks, so any items in your box have already been photographed and explained recently. You can look backwards at prior weeks if needed.  If you want to see photos of this week’s harvest, head to our instagram where we post those, usually on Thursdays.

Veggie Storage tips:

  • Everything wants to be washed well before cooking, but keep the dirt on till then, to prevent faster spoilage.
  • Everything in this week’s harvest wants to be stored in your fridge except for onions. Seal all your leafy greens up in a bag or container to retain moisture for longest storage life.
  • Roots will store best when severed from their tops, and stored separately (remember the tops of all these roots are edible, too!)

We’d love to hear stories and recipes of your culinary adventures this week. Tag us on Instagram or Facebook, showing us how you’ve used your CSA share.

Your farmers, Jess & Justin

Flower Shares

No new photo, but this week’s harvest is a little similar to last weeks. More sunflowers and zinnias are ready now, and fewer foxglove, feverfew, veronica, and other spring crops. Those are all winding down, but summer beauties are just starting to pop.

This week everyone received loads of Nigella, Sunflowers, Queen Annes Lace, Didiscus, yarrow, cosmos, and zinnias. The tail end of Foxglove and Veronica, a few Verbena, feverfew, and salvia. For greenery we’ve got the lovely wild baptisia alba again, which is nearly done, hopefully right on time for my first big lemon basil harvest I’m anticipating next week!
