Onion Planting

We received our order of several thousand onion starts this week from a great Texas farm: Dixondale Farms. All day today Justin and I will be spreading cow manure and amendments, tilling the beds, and digging furrows, all in preparation for a mad dash of planting tomorrow.  If anyone wants a little time in the sunshine, working your body and connecting with the land, tomorrow is a GREAT day to come volunteer! We have several crates totaling about 7,000 plants and we’re going to try and get them all in the ground this weekend. Many hands make the job so easy and so fun.  Get in touch with us if you’d like to come out tomorrow (Sunday, Jan. 19) and plant onions with us, we’re going to have a great time!
